Christina Llamas
Co-founder & Lead Instructor
A true local, Christina has spent well over a decade dominating the women’s skim scene as one of the top female skim boarders in the country. She is also a dedicated free surfer and has spent many years traveling to Costa Rica to surf. At the age of 27, Christina became one of the few professional female skim boarders in the world. In 2015 she decided to take her love of skimming and competing to the next level and turned her attention to the wake surfing scene. Christina has been a competitive wake surfer for almost five years now sitting top ten in the world ranking system for the CWSA.
Shaun Jacobs
Co-founder & Lead Instructor
At the age of ten Shaun moved from up state New York to Marco Island and quickly developed a love for the water and became an avid free surfer. When Shaun was seventeen he moved to Costa Rica and surfed alongside some of the top Costa Rican professionals. Shaun moved back to the states two years later landing in Naples where he met Christina and she infected him with a love of skimboarding! Always starving for waves Shaun began wakesurfing and started competing in 2016 sitting top ten in his division with the CWSA.
Alex Richey-Klein
Team Rider & Instructor
Alex is a junior in high-school who enjoys everything water related, especially skimboarding, who works with Christina Llamas and others at Surf Naples to teach various board sports, especially skimboarding. After growing up at the beach with a board under his arm, continuing that path by teaching board sports only seems natural. Alex regularly attends local skim competitions, attaining a second place finish in the most recent, and has begun teaching skimboarding and other board sports in hopes that he can share with others what they are missing out on. Alex hopes to continue to teach with Surf Naples and compete at a higher level for skimboarding, and in the far future move somewhere with actual waves.
Alex’s sponsors include: None but Surf Naples (Be the second!)
Alastair Rockley
Team Rider
Alastair grew up in Colorado, without – in his own words – “The earth’s most rad feature: THE OCEAN!” He first learned how to surf when he spent a summer in Costa Rica, developing a true love of the ocean and becoming a dedicated “shred head”. After moving to Naples, Alastair, now 11, picked up the sport of skimboarding and is a top competitor in his age division.
